There is a stereotype that librarians are portrayed as, with the horn rimmed glasses, and the hair in a bun, stubbornly shushing. These traits were nowhere to be found at this year's Librarian Book Cart Drill Championships. The event was recently held in Chicago.
Librarians of five teams, dressed in costumes ranging from Vikings to Elvis Presley, competed for the coveted gold book cart. They marched in formation, fully equipped with metal book carts. Sixty two year old librarian, Gretchen Roltgen, dolled off in neon blue hair says, it's a long way from Baraboo, Wisconsin.
