Name of your website?Fart-Fart.com
Your name?
Fartin Martin
Your Location (city, etc)
Edmonton
Please give us a short summary of your website?
This site is aimed at flatulence humor for smart people. Most sites about farts and pooping are really base or crude. Yet, crap gas is something more sophisticated people deal with too. I wanted to make a place where fart humor could be enjoyed without becoming an idiot in the process.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
No one else was doing it. Plus I needed something to learn html on.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
This is it. Its been live about 1.5 years.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
I wanted it to be descriptive. Also, when people fart, they often pop more than one at a time. Hence, Fart-Fart. Descriptive and realistic.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
This site has unique fart research, colon research, home-engineered fart sounds, a unique fart blog, and much more. It tries to entertain but also inform for those who want to learn.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To laugh my a@@ off. :)
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
This is not primarily a commercial venture. The site is paying its own rent via the ads, but it'll be a cold day in you-know-where before the money is anything to speak of.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
Hmmm... I'd develop more multimedia resources. I'd also develop the research portions more fully.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
This site requires no work. Only a little TLC. So, yes.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
None.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Dealing with CSS while integrating new features. If only the entire site all looked the same...
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Word of mouth, I'd guess.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
Hasn't.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
The success of this isn't dependent on gains in traffic or income. As long as farts remain funny and there's an interesting angle to explore and research with regard to the colon stuff, the site will stay live.
How are you today?
Quite fine, thank you.
